Vision :

Jostone's vision is, "to have a highly-accomplished and internationally competitive Jordanian stone and tile sector."

Mission

Jostone's mission is: "To strengthen and promote the Jordanian stone and tile sector and increase its efficiency in an economically- and environmentally-sustainable manner.

"Jostone links its members with tools to increase their production and export capacities. It attracts investments in Jordan, advocates for an appropriate legal environment, and promotes Jordanian stone in local and international markets.

History
Jostone was incorporated in 1993 with four members. Its purpose at the time was exclusively to increase exports of Jordanian stone and tile. It experienced initial success sending delegations to trade fairs in the United States (to what is now the Coverings Trade Fair) but then slipped into dormancy in 1994 for seven years for lack of funding.

International donors poured a little more money into its coffers in 2001, and—learning from mistakes of the past—Jostone campaigned furiously for new members in order to increase revenues and improve services.

Membership has since grown to over seventy members who benefit from participation in international trade missions and trade exhibitions, seminars with technical specialists and government officials, training events, and a slew of other benefits. (See the member benefits section for more information.)

Jostone's current CEO, Mohammad Al-Shami, arrived at Jostone mid-year in 2006.
